Serving as the statewide voice and governing body for Vermont's Fraternal Order of Police lodges.
We are the Vermont State Lodge of the Fraternal Order of Police. On January 2, 2025, the National Fraternal Order of Police, through the vote of Board leaders of all local FOP lodges statewide, instituted the formation of our Lodge. Elections were held for leaders who would promote education, legislation, information, community involvement, and employee representation. The Inaugural State Board thereafter incorporated, and began to serve the needs of law enforcement officers throughout the state. This lodge serves as the governing body of all local Vermont lodges. We are their voices at the State Capitol, and also in Washington, D.C.
The following charter members were sworn in by National FOP President Patrick Yoes, in the presence of National Trustee Richard Shailor: Joe Corrow as President, Tim Rice as Vice President, Zachary Beal as Secretary, Jaime Bressler as Treasurer, Craig Winkler as Sergeant at Arms, and Jimmy Baldea as National Trustee. The following co-charter members were present and participated in the election: Oren Byrne, Jacob Frey, Stephen Gregg, Padric Hartnett, David Nease, and Michael West. The celebration was witnessed by Vermont State Representative Matt Birong of Addison / Ferrisburgh / Panton / Vergennes / Waltham.
At the moment of consecration, this lodge represented the Barre Police Lodge, the Burlington Police Lodge, the Chittenden County Lodge, the Colchester Police Lodge, the Essex Police Lodge, the Montpelier Lodge, the Rutland City Police Lodge, the St. Albans City Police Lodge, and the Winooski Police Lodge. We'll support the conception of subordinate lodges throughout Vermont. With under half a million members, and over twenty-two hundred lodges, we are part of the world's largest organization of sworn law enforcement officers. From birth through present day, we remain committed to improving working conditions and safety for law enforcement.
